Pablo Picasso, Vallauris is a ceramic plate sculpture made in 1956.  Referred to as a “round dish” in the Alain Ramie Catalogue (Ceramic Works 1947-1971), this work features white earthenware clay, decoration in engobes under glaze, oxidized parrafin.  Yellow, brown, black, blue, ivory.  It is numbered from the edition of 100, stamped ‘Madoura’ and ‘Edition Picasso’ on the verso.  Ramie 331.

Picasso created thousands of ceramic pieces between 1947-1971, some of which were produced in limited numbers and with exclusive rights by Madoura Pottery in Vallauris, where Suzanne and Georges Ramie welcomed him in 1946.
