A rare Antoni Tapies Print, “Portail” or “Doorway” is an exquisite example of Tachisme, a style of French Abstract Expressionismcharacterized by spontaneous brushwork, drips and blobs of paint, and sometimes scribbling reminiscent of calligraphy. Other artists associated with Tachisme and similar abstract artmovements include: Pierre Alechinsky, Jean Dubuffet, Sam Francis, and Zao Wou-ki.
