Pablo Picasso, Paysage is a ceramic plate sculpture made in 1953.  Referred to as a “round dish” in the Alain Ramie Catalogue (Ceramic Works 1947-1971), this work features white earthenware clay, engobe and white enamel decoration under partial brushed glaze.  It is numbered from the edition of 200, stamped ‘Madoura’ and ‘Edition Picasso’ on the verso.  Ramie 207.

Picasso created thousands of ceramic pieces between 1947-1971, some of which were produced in limited numbers and with exclusive rights by Madoura Pottery in Vallauris, where Suzanne and Georges Ramie welcomed him in 1946.
